Seventy people took part in Banstead Rotary Club’s annual rotary ramble earlier this month and raised £6,000 for local charities.
The walk, from Epsom Downs to Tyrrells Wood, in Leatherhead, raised money for the Royal Marsden, the Children’s Trust and Age Concern.
Then on Friday, May 24, a dozen members from its sister club, Louviers le Neubourg, in Normandy, came for a social weekend.
The trip included a day outing to Hampton Court Palace, an evening meal at an Italian restaurant in Kingswood and Sunday lunch at Reigate Hill golf club.
"They are a very friendly group and were hosted in the homes of Banstead's Rotarians," said Rotarian Ian Caldwell.
