Innocent people will go behind bars when they take a sneak peek behind the scenes at a police station on Sunday.

Sutton police station's open day will feature a range of attractions including tours around the station's custody suite where people will follow in the footsteps of murders including Stuart Hazell, a look at the station's CCTV system, police dogs and horses, vintage police vehicles and much more.

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the free event which will also give people the chance to speak to officers and find out more about what they do.

Sutton Borough Commander Guy Ferguson said: "We look forward to welcoming many people to our Open Day. This is a great opportunity for people to see how we work and to talk to our officers. This is all about us being open and approachable and wanting to have the support of local residents."

The event runs at Sutton police station in Carshalton Road from 11am to 4pm on Sunday. Last entry will be at 3.30pm.
