Trains are now running normally after a lorry got wedged under a bridge near Norbury Station.

A lorry was reversing when it got stuck under the bridge in London Road at about 10.45am.

A police spokesman said they were called to the scene as the lorry was blocking the road.

The driver had to deflate his tyres so the lorry could fit under the bridge and drive away.

There was no structural damage to the bridge but some signs were damaged.

A spokesman for Southern Rail said trains were delayed for about 15 minutes on routes going through Norbury.

Trains had to slow down going over the bridge while engineers carried out an inspection, which lasted from 11:10 to 12:10pm.
