Elmbridge Council has launched a new programme to encourage people to get walking and cycling by the Thames.

The Healthy Walks and Cycles Rides programme offers the opportunity to enjoy leisurely strolls and stress-free cycle rides by the river with all routes and timetables planned out for you.

Councillor Jan Fuller, lead member for leisure and culture, encouraged people to join one of the programmes and “be charmed by the stunning landscapes the river has to offer”.

She said: “At this time of year, the Thames and River Wey are at their most beautiful with their banks alive with vibrant colours.”

The walks and cycle rides are all free and led by volunteers.
