I do admire the bare-faced cheek of Liberal Democrat MP Tom Brake's local campaigns against the policies he meanwhile supports while being a member of the Government up at Westminster.
Local people are not so easily taken in by such political chicanery.
Tom's campaigns on the NHS, trains, and pensions really just counsel us not to vote for Coalition candidates in elections.
When Tom was needed locally when real decisions impacting upon the local environment were being made by Sutton's planning councillors about the Beddington incinerator the local MP was notably absent from taking the opportunity to speak at that meeting.
Most MPs work hard to avoid incinerators being put in their constituency but not Tom, who prefers to put his energies into empty campaigns vainly trying to disassociate himself from the very Government that he belongs to.
