Get to know your glorious countryside by volunteering at weekend conservation events.

The weekend conservation task offers people the opportunity to learn new skills and meet those who do environmental work and help maintain Elmbridge’s local beauty spots.

The countryside team will run free monthly countryside activities for families wanting the chance to share a day out getting to know the landscape, wildlife and heritage of the surrounding countryside.

Parents are encouraged to get stuck in and get muddy with their children.

Councillor Jan Fuller said: “Children love playing with mud and getting mucky and it is even better when parents join in.

“The free countryside family events are about discovering the simple pleasure of playing outside, having fun and feeling good.”

The next weekend conservation task will be on Sunday, June 16, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.

The next countryside team event will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
