I visited the new library in New Addington recently and was struck by what a great environment it is to read and to study.
I took a brief look at the selection of books and DVDs and was impressed with everything on offer: new books and DVDs from a really broad range of subjects.
There is plenty of room for people to use and a childrens library corner which is apparently double the size that it used to be.
Within the building there are also opportunities for adults to learn new skills with Calat, a place for locals to seek advice from the council regarding services such as housing, and a Brenda Kirby Cancer Centre that offers support to cancer sufferers.
It's a great facility and I hope that everyone in New Addington is made aware of it and is able to enjoy it, and I think it's only right that Croydon Council and local Councillors are given credit for it, in particular Councillors Tony Pearson and Tim Pollard.
