A multi-million pound regeneration plan has been launched for Beddington and Hackbridge.

The Vision for Beddington will see a number of projects across parts of the borough including the development of a Decentralised Heat Network in Hackbridge, Beddington Lane Improvements and an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for £3million for Beddington Park.

The council has been working with the residents for the last eight months to outline the Vision.

Speaking at the launch, Councillor Pat Ali, ward councillor for Beddington North said: "The regeneration of Beddington is key to the prosperity of the whole borough. We want people to be proud of where they live and we want people to know that their neighbourhoods are a reflection of their views and needs."

Dennis Philpott, chairman of the Beddington Residents’ Association, said: "This launch is the start of a lot of improvements to the area which will in turn attract more people to Beddington. I'm excited about what this means for Beddington and most importantly its residents."

The Vision was launched at Carew Manor – Beddington’s 16th Century Hammer Beam Hall - by Coun Ali, alongside the leader of Sutton Council, Coun Ruth Dombey and the Borough’s Mayor, Coun Sean Brennan.
