Cheers echoed around Twickenham Stadium at Sunday’s Barbarians vs England match – but one of the biggest cheers was for an opportunistic streaker.

First-time streaker, Danny Howard, from Hemel Hempstead said he chose to streak as it was one of the things on his bucket list, but was awarded an £80 fine for his mischievous move.

The 20-year-old said: “Running on the pitch was very funny especially looking back at it now and remembering one of my thoughts was 'this grass is well nice to run on' - not what you think would cross through a naked man’s head whilst running in front of 60,000 plus people at Twickenham.

“I wouldn't do it again, it's crossed off the bucket list now so I'll leave it. Even my friends in Australia have seen it and deemed it as 'The greatest ever streaks at Twickenham'.

“I think the only thought that went through my mind as I was about the run on was sod it.”

Mr Howard, who has been named the Twickenham Streaker, signed up to Twitter following the match and declared it was he who bared all on the pitch and caused great amusement for spectators.

@saraho1960 tweeted: “One of the highlights of the weekend - a streaker at Twickenham in the middle of the England/Barbarian match! #barebitsandbobs.”

Spectators even reported seeing members of the royal box laughing at the prank.
