A motorcyclist from Surbiton has died during a racing event in Kent.
The accident happened during a regional Road Racing League meeting held on Hook Green, Lamberhurst, on Saturday, May 25.
The man, a 55-year-old from Surbiton who has not yet been named, was working as a National Escort Group (NEG) rider when his bike collided with a car at 10.35am.
The three-day event was cancelled following the tragedy.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “The motorcyclist, a 55-year-old man from Surbiton in Greater London, had been acting as a road marshal for a regional Road Racing League event involving more than 60 cyclists.
“He suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The man's family have been informed.
