Come rain or shine the colourful countdown to find Sutton’s top gardeners and green-fingered enthusiasts is on.

With Sutton In Bloom 2013 underway two of the sponsors teamed up this week to promote the hunt for the borough's Best Front Garden, Best Community Garden, Best Business Frontage, Best Allotment Garden and Best School Garden.

Susan Davis of Recognition Awards in Wallington joined Vanessa Udall at The House of Flowers in Carshalton Beeches to support Sutton Council's annual competition and encourage local gardeners of all ages to enter - whether for a well tended front garden, a simply stunning community area, eco-friendly school garden or an eye-catching business.

Judging will take place at the beginning of July and all the winners will be invited to attend a lunch to receive their awards. There will be trophies supplied by Recognition Awards for the winners and garden vouchers for the winners and runners-up in all categories. The best of the entries will represent Sutton in the prestigious London In Bloom competition.

Entry forms can be obtained from your local library and a downloadable version is available on the Sutton website. Or contact Jackie Eldridge in the Environment and Leisure Office at Denmark Road, Carshalton, on 020 8770 5070. The closing date for entries is June 21.
