Glenn Murray will have his eye on Crystal Palace's post-Christmas Premier League fixtures when they are announced next month.

The Eagles 30-goal striker is out until February after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament in the play-off semi-final first leg at home to Brighton.

It kept him out of Monday's play-off final win over Watford but he was involved throughout the day and went up the stairs with the rest of the team to claim the trophy.

"It will make my summer rehab a bit easier now, looking forward to Premier League fixtures instead of Championship ones," he said.

"I will be looking at the fixtures in the second half of the season and picking out a few but we will have to wait and see.

"We know it’s a long injury but I would be very disappointed if I wasn’t able to play a part at all next season."

Murray was replaced in the starting line-up by Aaron Wilbraham, who was denied three times by Watford's Manuel Almunia in the final.

"You never know in these sort of games how the chances fall," added Murray.

"If you change one man you may change the whole result, you can’t look at it as ‘if I had played.’ I’m just glad with the outcome.

"I dropped out and Aaron took my place and I thought he done great in the last few games.

"Eventually we all got where we needed to be."
