A new library opened its doors for the first time last week.
The New Addington Centre is the new base for the library which used to be situated across the road.
There will be a new stock of books as well as DVDs and talking books.
Following a public consultation more historical, crime and adventure novels were purchased.
Popular non-fiction subject areas such as crafts and travel have also been expanded.
A new dedicated children’s library corner is twice the size of the area in the old building, and there is also more dedicated homework space.
Councillor Tim Pollard, cabinet member for children, families and learning, said: “I’m extremely pleased with how good the new library looks and how well it has been integrated into the centre.
“At this time, when finances are difficult, it’s important for us to show how much we value our libraries by making investments such as this.”
