A member of staff murdered at a betting shop has been named as Andrew Iacovou.

Mr Iacovou, 55, from Sutton, was attacked in Ladbrokes in Aberconway Road, in Morden, on Saturday, May 25.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at about 10.30am on Saturday to reports of a man suffering serious head injuries.

Mr Iacovou was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination held on Sunday, at St George's Hospital mortuary, gave his cause of death as blunt trauma to the head.

Police are continuing their appeals to speak to a man captured on CCTV they want to speak to about the killing.

Police have said members of the public should not approach the man and are advised to contact police immediately.

Detectives from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating.

They said at this early stage, it appeared Mr Iacovou was attacked in the shop by a lone male suspect.

It is not known at this time whether any money was taken.

Friends and former colleagues have paid tribute to Mr Iacovou.
