The sister of a schoolboy missing for 27 years is to participate in a charity run this weekend, in honour of missing people.

Kevin Hicks was 16 when he was last seen leaving the family home in Sissinghurst Road, Addiscombe, on Sunday, March 2 in 1986.

The John Ruskin School pupil had left with a pound to buy eggs at a shop less than 250 yards away, but never returned having left his keys and bike behind.

On Saturday, Kevin's sister Alexandra will run 5k at the Miles for Missing People charity fundraiser on Clapham Common.

She hopes to raise £1,000 for the charity, at which she volunteers as a family representative.

She said: "I am proud to be running with a picture of Kevin on my t-shirt and have been overwhelmed by the support I have received over the last few weeks.

"All the money raised will be donated to Missing People in tribute to my brother Kevin. It will be a fantastic day to remember and it is a great cause."
