Work to repair a sewer in one of Kingston's busiest roads is complete - but the street will stay partially closed for a while longer as a resurfacing programme is carried out.

Eden Street was due to re-open to traffic this Sunday, following two weeks' of works to repair a sewer that had collapsed outside Neville Yard and Adam's Walk.

The sewer repairs are now complete, but Kingston Council has arranged for resurfacing works between Lady Booth Road and Clarence Street to be carried out immediately.

The resurfacing programme, which had already been delayed due to the sewer repairs, will be carried out overnight on Sunday May 19, and Monday, May 20, between 8pm and 5am both nights.

The road will be closed to traffic during these hours, and will re-open fully on Tuesday, May 21.
