Part of Moor Lane in Chessington is closed following a burst water pipe at the junction with Tudor Close.
Traffic will be diverted through Gosbury Hill, Cox Lane, and Sanger Avenue.
Kingston Council said it did not know how long the road would be closed.
A Thames Water spokeswoman said: “We had repaired a burst on the six-inch pipe on Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, another burst was reported in today and our engineers are currently on site getting this fixed. We’re really sorry for the disruption this is causing.”
