So Stuart Hazell is to be locked away for at least 38 years.

What will that annually cost us, the tax payer?

He will be housed, fed, kept dry and warm, perhaps watch TV and adult DVD'S, play snooker, etc, all at taxpayers' expense, after all his human rights have to be respected.

It comes at a time when many law-abiding people have to decide whether to eat or heat, wait years for hip replacements and other non-self-inflicted medical conditions, etc.

Is this fair? How has this ridiculous situation arisen?

No doubt from pressure from an army of do-gooders.

Would these do-gooders like to put their money where their mouth is and take serious criminals into their own homes, let them share their children's rooms, feed them, clothe them, provide them with their smokes and drinks, etc, all at their own expense - not at the expense of the taxpayer?

It's very easy to do good deeds when others are footing the bill.

As a matter of interest, what does it cost to imprison - a GBH offender, a rapist, a sex trafficer, a murderer, a paedophile?
