There was magic, mischief, memories and music at Crystal Palace’s Charity Ball last week.

The football club held their Annual Croydon Charity Dinner and the Croydon Hilton Hotel on Wednesday, May 8.

It was an evening of fundraising which saw thousands of pounds raised for two charities, The Cystic Fibrosis Trust and the CPFC Community Foundation.

The main event of the night was a silent auction which saw a whole host of prizes up for grabs to the highest bidder.

A training session with Palace manager Ian Holloway, a day at the races, a short stay in a luxury hotel and a day on a luxury yacht were just some of the lots on offer.

Businesses and individuals dug deep to donate more than £7,500 to the chosen charities.

Emotional speeches were made from representatives of both charities to show the difference the money would make.

The black tie event was hosted by lifelong Palace fan and after dinner speaker Barry Williams, who entertained the audience with a selection of stories and jokes.

There was also a host of live entertainment acts including Nick Einhorn who wowed the audience with a selection of magic tricks.

Performers from the West End delivered a variety of songs from some of the best loved musicals around.

Organiser of the event, Palace CEO, Phil Alexander thanked the sponsors of the event Allianz, and Barclays, along with the Croydon Guardian who were media partners.

He said: "I am hugely proud that once again we have hosted a fabulous evening of entertainment in Croydon whilst raising a considerable sum for both charities."
