The Crystal girls have been denied the chance to perform at Wembley in Crystal Palace’s play-off final.

The Eagles take on Watford on Bank Holiday Monday with the winner being promoted to the Premier League.

The Crystals had hoped to dance in the play-off final but due to Wembley rules they will not be able to perform at the home of football in front of the Eagles faithful.

In a message posted on their Twitter account, the Crystals said: “For all those who have asked, unfortunately the rules stipulate that we can't dance at Wembley. But we will be there supporting.”

Bronia Gosling, head coach of the Crystals, said: "We are of course disappointed not to be able to dance but it was always going to be a long shot.

"As it is neutral ground it would be seen as favouritism towards Crystal Palace. We would love the opportunity one day though.

"The girls and I will of course be going to Wembley to support the team so come on you Eagles."

Palace fans have also been told they will need to fork out £1,500 if they want to bring a large flag to the play off final.

A statement from Wembley officials said any large flag or banner which passes over people’s heads will require permission from Wembley stadium and the football league.

Those wishing to play musical instruments will also need permission before bringing them to the final.
