Four people have been arrested in Kingston this afternoon by police "acting on information about a vehicle".
A number of police cars and a dog unit were called to High Street at about 5.30pm, close to Nando's and Pizza Express restaurants.
A spokesman for Kingston police said officers were helping colleagues in Surrey, who had asked neighbouring forces to keep a look out for the vehicle.
It is not yet known what the four people have been arrested for.
Eye witness Tamsyn Latter was in the nearby Kingston Mill pub when the police arrived.
She said: "I came out for a cigarette and saw loads of police cars just further down.
"It wasn't a big scene. People were just getting on with their day.
"Everything seemed to be running very smoothly."
