Whether you are a keen artist or a casual doodler, all are invited to enter a national visual arts competition.

The competition is being held to celebrate national care home open day on Friday, June 21, and to mark the occasion, Sunrise Senior Living of Weybridge will also hold a summer barbecue.

The competition asks entrants to design a piece of artwork or take a photograph addressing the theme of ‘What does care mean to you?’

Christine Bunce, general manager at Sunrise of Weybridge, said: “We’re really looking forward to seeing the entries. I know there are lots of talented people in the area.

“It’s a great opportunity for local people to showcase their creativity and imagination.”

Winners will receive a Derwent Artists Pencil 120 wooden box set and the overall winner will be displayed at Sunrise of Weybridge.

The winner will also be entered into Sunrise’s national competition, up against other participants from across the country, for a chance to win a Nikon D3200 D-SLR camera kit worth more than £450.

All entries must be submitted to Sunrise of Weybridge by Friday, June 7, and the best five will be shortlisted prior to national care home open day.

Entrants must be 18 or over.
