Surrey’s Police and Crime Commissioner will come to Elmbridge to hold a crime summit for residents.

The summit will be a joint event with the annual public meeting of the Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership.

Senior members of the partnership board will give their end of year report and will answer questions from the public on community safety issues.

Kevin Hurley, Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey, will attend the summit to discuss the people’s priorities for policing and crime, which form the basis of his police and crime plan for Surrey.

Residents who attend will hear about community safety work in the borough, raise awareness about issues affect them and discuss how the partnership can work with the police and crime commissioner to solve the problems.

Representatives from Elmbridge Council Surrey Police, Surrey County Council, Elmbridge Housing Trust, Surrey Fire and Rescue and Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust will also be in attendance.

Mr Hurley said: “I am pleased to be able to come to Elmbridge and, with all of the agencies represented on the Elmbridge Community Safety Partnership, have an opportunity to hear from residents and businesses about what matters to them in the area.

“I say to Elmbridge residents – come and see us, bring your concerns – we are here to take action on them.

“Everyone has an idea of how they would like the place they live to be. By working together we can help realise those expectations and make Elmbridge a better place to live and work.”

The crime summit will take place at the Civic Centre, Esher on Wednesday, June 12, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
