Councillors have rejected plans from two late-night fast food outlets to extend their opening hours to 4am.
Wandsworth’s licensing sub-committee rejected applications from Flavas in Bedford Hill in Balham and from Yummy Chicken in Battersea Park Road that would have allowed both to serve customers until the early hours.
Members of the sub-committee ruled that permitting such late-night opening hours could pose an unacceptable risk of noise nuisance to neighbours and also lead to an increase in anti-social behaviour at both locations.
Councillor Piers McCausland, chairman of the sub-committee, said the impact on neighbours would have been "too severe".
