A silver Porsche crashed into a brick wall near the All England Tennis Club in Wimbledon causing substantial damage.

A witness said the Porsche Cayenne was driving up Somerset Road, when it lost control and drove into the corner of a house on Newstead Way at about 9.40pm on Saturday, May 11.

The driver is said to have reversed out of the wreckage and sped off when he spotted a neighbour.

Khalid Qadeer, who lives in the house on Newstead Way, said: “The negligent driver may have been drunk but he certainly was speeding.

“I feel the driver should be caught. He is clearly reckless and dangerous.”

The incident occured outside Gate 16 of the All England Tennis Club.

Mr Qadeer added: “The head of security at the All England Lawn Tennis have been very co-operative since there are quite a few cameras around the club.

“Although the car has been spotted on the cameras because of the time of the night the number plate couldn't be confirmed.”

Anyone with information can call police on 101.
