Congratulations to the local residents who have taken on the task of maintaining the area of grass (Thursday, May 2) around the war memorial on Parkside, Wimbledon.
But what does this say about the council’s financial management?
They claim that it was costing them £5,000 a year to maintain this small area of grass.
Are they paying their staff enormous salaries or are they just being ripped off by outside contractors?
