Kagisho Dikgacoi feels Crystal Palace deserve their place in the Championship play-off final and now wants another crack at the Premier League.

The Eagles claimed their spot in the game at Wembley, where a whopping £120m prize is at stake, with a 2-0 win at Brighton on Monday night despite the Seagulls being classed as the overwhelming favourites before game.

But the Eagles have been in the top six since the ninth match of the season on October 3 and Dikgacoi reckons that fact alone means they have earned their place in the end-of-season showpiece.

"It is a great feeling and I thought we deserved it," said the 28 year-old, who made 13 appearances in England's top tier for Fulham between 2009 and 2011.

"We have been fantastic this season, we haven't been out of the top six since October so I think we deserved it.

"It would mean a lot to me to now get back to the Premier League, to have another chance there.

"Hopefully, we get the win at Wembley and we can be back in the Premiership."

Dikgacoi was also keen to praise the role played by the 1,962 Palace fans who made the trip to Brighton and saw Wilfried Zaha's double upset the odds.

"It is a great achievement for the supporters, they also deserve it as they have been fantastic for us all season," he added.

"They have always been fantastic, at away games, home games, even last night they came in numbers to support us and they played an incredible part in our victory.

"There was no pressure on us, the pressure was on Brighton as a lot was expected from them.

"We came with one mentality, to work hard and win the game and get to Wembley.

"The whole team worked hard from the front. When we lost the ball we kept the shape and we defended in numbers, we did well, and when we went forward we attacked with skill."
