A charity that runs the country’s largest rehabilitation centre for children with acquired brain injuries was visited by a health minister last week.

Dan Poulter, MP for central Suffolk and north Ipswich, talked to staff and patients during a walkabout of the Children’s Trust in Tadworth.

During the visit Dr Poulter met 11-year-old Lottie and her parents, David and Christine, who explained how the trust had supported the family during their daughter’s rehabilitation.

Lottie acquired brain injury from meningitis.

Dr Poulter was accompanied by the trust’s chief executive Dalton Leong, director of children’s services Sally Jenkinson and chairman Duncan Ingram.

Mr Leong said he was delighted the minister took great interest in the trust’s work.

He said: “There is continual change within children’s services and the visit was a good opportunity for us to emphasise how important it is that children with severe brain injuries and complex health needs continue to receive access to the care they need.”
