A school in Banstead has got a deal with Waitrose to sell vegetables that it is growing in its new greenhouse made out of plastic bottles.
Banstead Community Junior School, in the Horseshoe, has teamed up with its local branch of the posh supermarket in a project designed to help raise funds for the school.
Pupils began planting vegetables last month, including lettuce and beetroot, Spanish peppers, courgettes, peas and mangetout.
A child from each year group will be monitoring the plants to make sure they are watered regularly and repotted when necessary.
The students have sent a report and photos to Waitrose to update them on the progress so far.
Dominie Carr, Waitrose branch forum rep, said: "The greenhouse looks wonderful. I look forward to the next update."
