A man was taken to hospital with a fractured eye socket after a row in a communal car park in Walton.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to the assault, which happened in Thames Mead on Tuesday, May 7, at about 2pm.

A group of 11 men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s attacked the victim, a 21-year-old man, believed to be known to them.

The offenders then fled in several cars.

The victim was taken to St George’s Hospital, Tooting, to receive treatment for a fractured eye socket.

Detective Constable Anne Simpson said: “This was a nasty attack on a young man who was simply going about his everyday business.

“It appears there were more than ten young men involved in this incident who made their getaway in several cars and we are appealing to anyone who saw anything or has information to contact police as soon as possible.

“Officers are currently following up all lines of inquiry to bring the offenders to justice.”

A 16-year-old boy from Esher was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit GBH and was bailed until June 10.
