A man has been taken to hospital following a stabbing in Broad Green.

London Ambulance were called to London Road, at 4.07pm to reports of a man suffering a stab wound.

A spokeswoman confirmed they sent an ambulance crew, a duty officer and London's Air Ambulance to the scene.

She said: "Our staff treated one patient, a man reported to be 18-years-old for a stab wound.

"He has been taken to hospital in an ambulance, escorted by the doctor from London's Air Ambulance."

A police spokesman said the teenager's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

London Road remains closed in both directions between Fairholme Road and Bensham Lane and there are severe delays in surrounding roads.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
