A driver sustained minor injuries in a crash on the A3 between Esher and Cobham this morning.

A red Fiat Punto and another car collided on the southbound side of the road shortly after 7am.

One car ended up on its roof.

Surrey Police said they controlled traffic around the crash while the cars were towed away.

Painshill firefighters said the overturned car was on its side when they arrived, and the driver had climbed out.

South East Coast Ambulance sent one ambulance and treated a man in his 40s, a spokesman said.

The man had a deep cut in his right arm and minor head injuries, and was taken to St George’s Hospital as a priority.
