A man has been stabbed and two men have head injuries after a five-person fight in the driveway of a house in Ewell.

Detectives are appealing for information following the fight, which happened in London Road at about 4am this morning.

A 50-year-old man was stabbed during the fight and was taken to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey with non-life threatening injuries.

A 21-year-old man and a 46-year-old man were taken to St Helier Hospital in Carshalton with head injuries. 

All three have subsequently been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

Another two men, aged 20 and 36, were also arrested at the scene on suspicion of the same offence and are currently in custody.

The road is closed between Briarwood Road and Park Avenue East while an investigation is carried out at the scene.

Surrey Police detective constable Errol Chetty said: "This was a violent incident that has led to three people requiring hospital treatment.

"I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has any information relating to it to contact police as soon as possible.

"I would like to reassure the local community that officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances.

"We believe at this stage this was an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the local community.

"There will be extra patrols in the area to provide residents with further reassurance and house to house enquiries are ongoing.”
