Almost 100 drinkers had to flee a Kew pub on Friday night following a chimney fire.

The chimney of the Coach and Horse in Kew Road caught fire at about 10pm during a busy Friday night.

Customers were forced to leave the pub when it started filling with smoke, setting off the fire alarms.

Richmond fire fighters attended just before 10pm on April 5, with two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform.

A Richmond fire fighter said: "(The fire) was coming out the chimney quite a lot and the whole street was smoke logged.

"We just want to advise people to get a professional chimney sweep out twice a year and get advice from them."
