Elmbridge Community Link (ECL) is to be one of the first beneficiaries of Walton Charity’s new community grants programme.
ECL, a small charity based in Walton offering educational and social activities to people with learning difficulties, has been awarded an £11,600 grant to continue its work and make itself more sustainable.
Through the programme, Walton Charity hopes to improve the lives of people in need by supporting other local charities and organisations.
Chairman of ECL Terri Collins said: “To have the support of Walton Charity has been a great moral boost to the charity, staff and directors, and will give us time to evaluate our services within the community, our achievements and future opportunities.
“The grant has been a lifeline.”
Chief executive of Walton Charity Jackie Lodge said: “ECL is an ideal partner as they are able to respond to local need and help improve the lives of people with learning disabilities.”
