Over £900 was raised for Norwood Foodbank at events held in Crystal Palace in celebration of Fairtrade Fortnight.
Two charity events were organised by Crystal Place Transition Town, including a mini festival called Foodstock and a pop-up dinner called The Hungry Gap Dinner.
Four local bands including Frank and Dani and The Lovebirds, played for free at Westow House on March 2, to fundraise for the Foodbank.
The event, organised by Joe Duggan, co-chairman of Crystal Place Transition Town and Damien Conrad, a Norwood Foodbank Volunteer, attracted a big audience and over £719 was raised.
A three course meal using only local and fairtrade ingredients was served at The Hungry Gap Dinner.
The menu included eggs from a garden in Sydenham and Medlar Syrup made as part of the Palace Preserve project.
Two fairtrade producers spoke about the effect Fairtrade had in their lives in Zimbabwe during the dinner and the event raised another £185
