Sutton’s stars of the future are celebrating after dominating the badminton tournament at the Schools Games.
Youngsters from Wilsons School in Wallington led the way, winning gold in the key stage three boys’ competition – they won all three of their round robin ties, dropping only four games in the process.
There was further success for the school in the key stage four boys’ tournament, as the badminton boys claimed silver, winning two out of three matches.
Wallington Girls’ School finished with silver in the key stage three tournament, and bronze in key stage four.
The Schools Games, that attracts competitors from across the UK, culminated at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace last week. It is separate to, but runs alongside, the London Youth Games.
