A man has been charged with dangerous driving and assaulting police after a police car chase.
Jamie Julio Scott, 20, from Tooting Bec, was arrested on February 17 when the fleeing car was stopped in Elmbridge.
Police started chasing the car being driven in ‘suspicious circumstances’ along Kingston Road, Leatherhead, at 5.45pm.
The chase continued up Hook Road before the black Vauxhall Astra was stopped on the Kingston By-Pass.
Two police vehicles were damaged while bringing the car to a standstill. Officers searched the area for another man who escaped and there are on-going enquiries.
Mr Scott, from Bushnell Road, appeared at North Surrey Magistrates’ Court in Staines last Tuesday and was bailed to reappear there on April 16.
