A new community arts centre set to open in the spring has been given its official name follwoing a public competition.
Omnibus, named after the charity which will run it, will be based in the old Clapham Library building, in Clapham Common Northside.
Jake Wood, 9, and Archie Owen, 7, were chosen from more than 100 entries as winners for their idea of naming the building Omnibus.
Jake said: "It’s the name of the company so I just thought that the building should be called that too."
TV actress Maggie O'Neill, who has starred in Eastenders and Shameless, said: "As someone who lives locally it would have been a tragedy to lose this fantastic building to developers.
"I’m so pleased that it’s going to be dedicated to the arts and I’m sure that it will only enrich what is already such a great area".
George Owen, chairman of Omnibus, said: "This project is about the community and Jake and Archie are the future.
"For 123 years, the building has served the community and now we have the opportunity to ensure that this will continue - Jake and Archie and their pals can be part of it."
Omnibus are planning to run a programme of performances starring actress Miriam Margolyes, comedian Arthur Smith and The BRIT School.
