A draftsman has been jailed for stabbing a man and a woman in July.
Philip Rainsbury, 53, from Reigate, was sentenced to eight years in jail for the double stabbing in Ashtead.
On the evening of the stabbings on July 8 police found a wounded man in his 60s, at an address in Pound Court at 9.30pm, and a wounded woman in her 30s at a nearby address.
Rainsbury knew both victims and police arrested him a short time later.
Rainsbury, of Bell Street, pleaded guilty to two counts of grievous bodily harm and was sentenced today at Guildford Crown Court.
Detective Constable James Chapman, from the Public Protection Investigation Unit, said: "I welcome the sentence handed to Rainsbury as it reflects the severity of the crime committed and I hope it sends out a clear message that Surrey Police simply will not tolerate such behaviour and will strive to get the maximum sentences for offenders.
"I hope the victims of this incident can now start to move on with their lives and I thank them for the courage they have shown throughout the court process."
