Thousands of people living in the borough are set to get a tax cut next year.
Last week the government announced income tax allowance is due to rise to £9,400.
The decision means 88,600 working people in Sutton will get a further income tax cut, while 7,320 low-earners in Sutton will be lifted out of paying income tax altogether.
MP Paul Burstow said: "When times are tough, with rising bills and wages not keeping pace with inflation, we want to give people real, practical help.
"As part of the Coalition agreement we promised that the threshold would rise to £10,000 – something we will be seeing over the next couple of years.
"This drastically cuts the income tax bill for those on minimum wage."
