Epsom was lit up for the festive season when its Christmas lights were switched-on yesterday.
The lights were switched on in the market place by Father Christmas, the mayor of Epsom and Ewell, Councillor Christine Long, and eight-year-old Natasha Grace, who won the honour after claiming first place in a competition to design a festive poster run by the council.
The crowds were treated to a range of entertainment including a Santa’s grotto, an ice-skating risk, live music and singing by Epsom choir’s, children’s rides, a magician, face-painting, hot food stalls and had the chance to meet the characters from The Night Before Christmas, which is showing at the Epsom Playhouse.
