The jury has retired to consider its verdict in the murder trial of an alleged robber accused of accidentally killing his accomplice in a botched Addiscombe robbery.

Daniel Tesfay, 27, is accused of mistakenly shooting 20-year-old Jonathan Barnes as the pair tried to flee a house on Morland Road in August last year.

The prosecution alleges Mr Tesfay and Mr Barnes were attempting to steal two fake Rolex watches that they had agreed to buy from Jordaan Williams, who lived at the address.

Mr Tesfay, who raps under the pseudonym 'Wolfie', is alleged to have accidentally shot his friend as he tussled with Mr Williams.

But Mr Tesfay told the Old Bailey that a mystery gunman, thought to be a friend of Mr Williams, had fired the fatal shot that struck Mr Barnes.

He said Mr Barnes had planned to legimately purchase the watches before realising they were fake and attempting to leave.

He denies murder and possessing a firearm with the intent endanger life.
