Dancers from the Brit School took to Royal Albert Hall stage to take part in the second annual Dance Proms event alongside Strictly Come Dancing stars.

The Croydon students were selected to perform at the event by a panel of artistic directors and senior dance examiners after they submitted their entry video online.

The group performed two dances, called Movie Night and For Queen and Country, and appeared alongside Strictly Come Dancing’s Darren Bennett and Lilia Kopylova on November 4.

The event culminated in an epic finale featuring all 450 dancers who entered the show.

The group’s choreographer Julia Dark said: “Dancing on stage at the Royal Albert Hall was an incredible experience and to perform alongside celebrity dancers was a dream come true for the students.

“The finale was a real highlight – seeing over 450 talented dancers on stage gave us all goose bumps.’”

Dance Proms was launched 2011 with the aim of sourcing the UK and Ireland’s most talented dance students, in all genres and styles.

In the run-up to the event, participating students were able to connect with each other on a private online forum, allowing them to get to know one another as a dance company.
