It's only May but thoughts are already turning to panto at Fairfield Halls.

EastEnders and Gavin and Stacey star Larry Lamb headlines as the villainous Abanazar in the magical panto Aladdin, which will open for a month-long run on December 2.

The age-old tale features a host of colourful characters including Wishee Washee and the outrageous Widow Twankey, who runs the Chinese Laundry.

Throw in a magic lamp and a mysterious Genie and you have the recipe for fun, laughter and plenty of drama.

Lamb is known to millions as Archie Mitchell in EastEnders, and was voted Villain of the Year at the 2010 British Soap Awards.

He also played Mick Shipman in the award-winning comedy series Gavin and Stacey and has a wealth of TV, film and theatre credits.
