Rock and roll legend Buddy Holly is being brought back to life and back to Croydon's Fairfield Halls on Tuesday.

In Dreams features Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and The Everly brothers and invites audiences to take a trip down memory lane, from the fabulous 50s to the swinging sixties.

Tim Harwood, who plays Buddy, is a long time fan of rock & roll.

"I grew up in Blackpool listening to my mum's old vinyls," he says.

"I have always been a fan of that type of music and playing Buddy is great.

"I got into the show because one of my best friends was in it originally, so I went along to watch and give my support.

"A few months later I got asked to stand in for someone and then to take the role of Buddy.

"I went home to think about it, stood in front of the mirror, popped out some old lenses, flung on a tie and I thought, yeah, I would buy that, so I took the role.”

Harwood has played at Fairfield before as Elvis in Bill Kenwright’s This is Elvis and is looking forward to his return.

"We always get a great reaction from the audience and some people have even start jiving in the aisles," he says.

"Lots of people always say to us they saw Buddy in London back in 1958 and say the show is like a trip down memory lane for them.

"This is definitely one of the best shows of its type I have ever been involved in, just because it does exactly what it says on the tin."
