Epsom entertainment lovers will get the chance to take in the best local talent this week when the Epsom Playhouse Youth Theatre Workshop bring their spectacular cocktail of music, song and dance ‘One Night Only’ to the venue.

As the title suggests the evening is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it opportunity to see the budding stars in action, performing a heady mix of songs from West End and Broadway musicals, the pop charts and a few original pieces thrown in for good measure.

And for director and producer Jenny O’Leary, it was a show that simply had to go on.

She explains: “I have been actively involved in musical theatre since I was nine, and for a long while have been part of the Epsom group.

“As myself and most of my friends in the group are going our separate ways to university in September, we thought it would be a fantastic end of an era celebration for us all to do a variety show.”

The students, all aged between 16 and 19, will also be looking to help out a good cause, with proceeds going to Emma’s Bubble Trust, named after Emma Louise Brandon, a charity designed to help teenagers suffering from the afflictions of cancer.

O’Leary adds: “We really wanted to raise money for a local-based charity and as a group we decided on Emma’s Bubble Trust as quite a few of us knew Emma.

“We are really grateful that people have backed us and it will be great to perform in such a fantastic venue.

“It is going to be a brilliant show, suitable for all ages and backgrounds.

“So I urge all readers to please come along and show your support for such a great cause.”
