Having spent the past 12 months working on new shows for this year's Edinburgh Festival, the time has come for comedians and theatre companies alike to finally unveil their creations. Over the course of the next two weeks many of them will be doing just that at Theatre503. Here's a short rundown of what you can expect this week...

MARCUS BRIGSTOCKE – GOD COLLAR

One of Britain's finest comedians and broadcasters, Marcus Brigstocke is a firm favourite with festival goers and God Collar promises to be as sharply observant and quick-witted as his much loved catalogue of work. The BBC New Comedian of the year 1996 has had his own topical show, BBC4's Late Edition, and been in numerous quiz shows, including Have I Got News For You and Argumental. July 5, 9pm, £10.

ADAM RICHES - ROGUE MALES

Take one man, split him in seven, add a dash of deadly and you have one hour of character flavoured comedy courtesy of Adam Riches. Following on from the success of his sell-out Edinburgh 2008 show Alpha Males, Riches delivers another collection of questionable characters all teetering on the brink. July 6, 9pm, £10.

IDIOTS OF ANTS

Having amassed millions of hits online and created of the most viewed BBC3 comedy clip on YouTube, Facebook in real life, the Ants return. Renowned for their off-kilter take on the world around them and hot of the heels of their UK tour, the foursome's Fringe show is set to sell out for the third year running. July 6-7, 7.30pm Mon, 9.15pm Tues.

THE HEAD OF THE FORK written by Jonathan Pointing, directed by Clare Pointing and presented by Middle Man.

Fred and Dom are two housemates trapped in a life of mundane routine, fearful of what the future holds. After a long friendship, living together has proved a risk too far as their relationship grinds to a painful halt. This play deals directly with a generation stuck in an empty loop, where the present seems like a trap and the future a cruel joke. July 7-9, 7.30pm, £10.

HIS GHOSTLY HEART written by Ben Schiffer, presented by The Girl Next Door Theatre Company

"I wanted to change. To let the dark make me clean, heal me. So that when I came out, I was a different person." Lead writer on Skins, Ben Schiffer lets us eavesdrop on an intimate, unnerving moment between lovers that leaves the audience quite literally in the dark. July 10-12 July, 9.15pm, £10.
