Andrew Sachs is to appear in EastEnders in the new year.
The Fawlty Towers star – who previously appeared in a guest role in Coronation Street – will make a cameo in the BBC soap, the Daily Mirror has revealed.
An EastEnders spokesman has confirmed Andrew will appear in “a couple of episodes which transmit next year as a guest star”.
The 84-year-old actor is most famous for playing hapless Spanish waiter Manuel opposite John Cleese in hit 70s sit come Fawlty Towers.
In 2009 he appeared in Corrie as Norris Cole’s brother Ramsay for 27 episodes between May and August.
The veteran actor hit the headlines in 2008 when Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross left lewd messages on his answering machine during a recording for Russell’s Radio 2 show.
Russell – who was forced to resign from the BBC as a result of the calls – has since written an open letter to Andrew apologising for the “distress, sadness and turbulence” he caused.
