A live events night is being held in aid of Women’s Trust, a charity offering counselling and support for women affected by domestic violence.
The event, hosted on International Women’s Day, is to draw attention to the plight of the one in four women in the UK who suffer as a result of domestic violence, something which claims two lives in the UK each week. Organised by Chatta B, the night will feature a broad range of female entertainers, including singers, rappers, comedians and live poetry.
Alongside the live entertainment, the event includes an appearance by Meira Kaylana, a motivational speaker and co-writer of ‘A Secret of Domestic Violence’. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Womens’ Trust, who will also be doing a speech on the night.
Women’s Day Special, Alchemist Bar, 225 St John’s Hill, Clapham Junction, March 8, starts 8pm, £5 tickets on the door, visit www.facebook.com/events/183835951722942
